Position Start Date: April 28, 2026

 

Required Degree: 

  • Required: An undergraduate and/or graduate degree must be in nutrition, dietetics, food science, or a related field.

  • Preferred: PhD in nutrition, dietetics, food science, or related field with previous coursework in biochemistry.

The required degree must be completed by the start date. 

 

Experience: 

  • Experience developing syllabi, lectures, assessments, and instructional materials.

  • Demonstrated expertise in nutrient metabolism, including knowledge of biochemical pathways, macronutrient/micronutrient functions, and metabolic regulation in health and disease.

  • Strong understanding of evidence-based nutrition and current dietary guidelines, with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, accessible instruction.

 

Duties/Expectations: 

  • Teach the undergraduate NDFS 200 Nutrient Metabolism course on the BYU Provo, UT campus during the Spring 2026 term for Evening School.

  • Manage and train teaching assistants.

  • Hold office hours outside of class to help students learn the material.

  • Provide students with feedback on written assignments.

  • Direct management over course materials, grading, and submitting final grades.
