Creative Production Designer

Local Marketing Production Designers ensure that great ideas become great executions. You’ll bring consistency, polish, and precision to creative assets across print and digital platforms.

Contract Details:

• Rate: $42-48/hr
• Start date: Early to mid April
• Contract length: Through EOY with option to renew into 2027 
• Hours: 40 hrs/week 
• Location: Remote but must work EST hours 

The Local Marketing Production Designer will be responsible for creative duties (design within the VIS and be able to take direction to develop creatively excellent work) as well as production duties (such as accurate development of mechanicals and production-ready assets). This person will be responsible for the accuracy and quality of a file before its dispatch/publication. Duties include applying design changes and recommendations to each project while handling multiple projects. At the same time, a high standard for creative quality is a must.

Creative Production Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with all RTC teams and, as needed, with art directors and writers to prepare creative layouts that are on strategy and in line with the quality and consistency of our client's Brand System and VIS.
• Keen eye for design, especially typography design, ability to design from a VIS system, creating new iconography and visual treatments, sketching mock-ups
• Ideate independently, as well as take direction from creatives to execute on ideas. Take files from ideation state to final production, using skills such as basic retouching, versioning of creative files, execute mock-ups for creatives.

Production Responsibilities:

• Review project layouts prior to production. This aspect of the role can include a multitude of different responsibilities, from ensuring that files are to spec and checking files for compatibility across devices to proofreading to spot errors in page text.
• Prepare images for production, adjusting color balance, size, and resolution to ensure that images are of the highest possible quality and that there are no errors in color set up.
• Asset packaging; before a project is sent to production, the production artist packages the necessary files and ensures that they are ready to use. Depending on the type of media in which the production artist works, this can include checking hi-res and video files to ensure that they are ready for use.

What You’ll Do:

• Support creative and art directors in translating concepts into final artwork
• Prep and format files for production across media (print, digital, etc.)
• Implement edits and feedback quickly while maintaining design integrity
• Ensure brand consistency and quality across deliverables
• Manage file storage and version control

What You'll Bring:

• 2+ years of experience in a production or graphic design role
• Deep understanding of file types, specs, and prepress best practices
• Excellent attention to detail and consistency. Quality assurance a must.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Experience with typography and icon design in your portfolio 
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
