Description

This is a full time position within the Rochester City School District Audiology Department. 

The Educational Audiologist must be an experienced professional with appropriate qualifications to provide Educational Audiology services to children who communicate through spoken language and/or signed language and who use hearing aids, cochlear implants, or other hearing assistance technology. 

The Educational Audiologist will be one of a team of five audiologists, based in the Rochester City School Districts Central Office building, with itinerant duties in the schools throughout the district.



Responsibilities

Audiological evaluations, auditory processing assessments and verification techniques for personal amplification and hearing assistance technology. 

Current knowledge of, and direct management experience with hearing assistance technology.  

Active participation in development and implementation of Individualized Educational Plans and Section 504 Accommodation Plans In-service training of classroom teachers and other Support Services professionals regarding educational implications of hearing loss, classroom acoustics, effective use of amplification devices (hearing aids and hearing assistance technology) and/or cochlear implant devices, and strategies for addressing students auditory needs.

 

Minimum Salary: $51,500 per year

Maximum Salary: $73,026 per year



Qualifications

MA/MS in Audiology and/or AuD. Eligible to obtain Audiology and Dispensing licensure from the State of New York. 

New York State Certification as Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped. 

The candidate must have a valid drivers license and a car.
