Food & Nutrition Aide-Food Service Food Production-Mount Sinai Morningside-Full Time, Days, EOW, Some Holidays

Prepares, portions, transports, and serves food and beverages as assigned and follows standardized recipes, menus and production sheets as necessary

1. Sets up and serves special catering functions as assigned.

2. Prepares, portions, transports, and serves food and beverages as assigned.

3. Follows standardized recipes, menus and production sheets as necessary.

4. Uses various equipment while performing assigned tasks. Operates equipment in a safe manner and cleans all equipment according to extablished guidelines.

5. Sets up patient tray assembly carts, reads menus, and accurately assembles tray so patients meal selection and diet prescriptions are followed.

6. Washes and prepares service ware and pots according to sanitary standards and insures that only clean and well maintained service ware is used for food handling and patient meal service.

7. Maintains compliance with Policy and Procedures and HACCP and NYSDOH.

8. Follows standard practices for storing, issuing, covering, labeling and dating of foods.

9. Properly disposes of waste and garbage.

10. Prepares, portions, labels, and serves special nourishments and supplemental feeding to patients.

11. Rotates stock in storage areas.

12. Sweeps and mop floors, and washes equipment using proper agents and supplies.

13. Sets up cafeteria stations, serves food to all customers, replenishes food and supplies, and keeps station clean at all times.

14. Passes out and collects patient menus and assist patients with menu selection.

15. Receives and signs for food and supplies issued.

16. Transports supplies to and from kitchen and other areas throughout hospital.

17. Does general cleaning of all areas in food service.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Food Service experience preferred.

The salary range for the role is $25.43 - $27.33 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
