This Opportunity
We are seeking a Production Lead/BIM Technical Resource Specialist to provide support for CADD Production/Revit MEP solutions at WSP Boston for the electrical group.
The primary responsibilities of this person are to advance our current AutoCAD, MicroStation and BIM capabilities and facilitate consistency across project types by standardization drawing presentation of geometric and graphical data. Additionally, this person shall assist in the creation of and implementation of staff development training, and promote the effective and efficient use of BIM / Revit on all projects.
Additionally, the candidate shall act as the electrical group’s production lead for 2D computer aided drafting (CAD) and REVIT coordinator for delivering design drawing packages for multiple projects with concurrent schedules, set up project standards, templates and libraries at the outset of a project as a baseline for 2D AutoCADD and MicroStation based projects, along with BIM/Revit projects, as well as act as an electrical designer as needed for select projects.
Your Impact
The position involves the management for all design production activities within electrical group projects from the preliminary design phase through the hand-over to the client. This includes design document production planning; the development of the workflow plans and the coordination of design activities while maintaining the project budget and schedule.
The candidate will maintain close contact with lead engineers, clients, engineering sub-contractors, and other project management team members.
The position will include the following functions:
Responsibility for managing the QA process for all design document submittals and maintaining the overall uniformity and technical presentation of design documents.
Responsibility for managing all the electrical group’s deliverables.
Develop, document and communicate best practices of BIM/Revit technologies, including model management and coordination with other disciplines.
Manage the initial set up of projects (2D) and models (REVIT) to comply with project standards, office standards and best practices.
Manage Revit standards, family content, and office templates.
Engage with project teams to strategize, employ and maintain an effective BIM/Revit strategy, including model sharing and coordination with other disciplines, for project deliverables.
Develop and conduct training sessions for beginners and continuing education for users of all levels.
Develop a central electrical standard detail library from historical details that reside within existing file structures.
Perform document control for contract drawing production, including but not limited to:
Development of overall contract drawing list and providing document control of overall drawing list across contractual deliverables.
Applying standard details from central library.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the AEC industry, preferably in an MEP office.
Minimum five (5) years of experience working in Revit in a production, administrative and/or support capacity on projects.
Working knowledge of all aspects of professional MEP services from master planning and schematic design through construction documents and construction administration, including design and technical experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microstation and Autodesk REVIT.
Must possess expert knowledge in Revit Family creation.
Proficiency in SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and rendering software are preferred.
Experience with Navisworks and its relation to Revit models.
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and be highly organized.
Self-motivated, flexible and able to prioritize. Shall be a team-player and able to adapt to various team structures working independently, as well as part of a larger group.
Familiarity with NFPA Standards, National Electrical Code and applicable building codes.
Preferred Qualifications
Design experience in: electrical design, specifications, cost estimating, construction activity support.
Experience working in the following areas: Vehicular and rail tunnels, telecommunications, transit, aviation, industrial, commercial, educational, healthcare, or governmental.
Classes and programs in AutoCAD, Revit and the design of building electrical systems.

Compensation: Expected Salary (all locations): $74,300 - $101,000
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and specific geographic location.
