Primary Purpose:
The Audio/Video Production Teacher instructs students in video production, editing, broadcasting, film techniques, and digital storytelling
Qualifications: Education/Certification:
Professional experience in AV production, film or broadcasting
Appropriate CTE teaching certification from one of the following:
-Secondary Industrial Arts: Grades 6-12' -Secondary Industrial Technology: Grades 6-12 -Technology Applications: Early Childhood-Grade 12; Grades 8-12 -Technology Education: Grades 6-12 -Trade and Industrial Education: Grades 6-12 - This assignment requires appropriate work approval; Grades 8-12 - This assignment requires appropriate work approval -Trade and Industrial Workforce Training: Grades 6-12. This assignment requires appropriate work approval -Vocational Trades and Industry - This assignment requires appropriate work approval
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, Film, Video, and Broadcasting equipment
Major Responsibilities and Duties: Instructional Strategies
Teach camera operation, lighting, audio engineering, and editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut).
Oversee production projects such as campus broadcasts, scoreboard projects, or short films.
Maintain studio equipment and enforce production safety standards.
Prepare students for industry credentials (Adobe Certified Professional in Premiere Pro) and competitions.
Secure opportunities for work-based learning.
Inventory equipment, tools, and supplies.
Ensure equipment maintenance and obtain repair as needed.
Work with outside vendors, campus staff, and District Communication Department on video production projects.
