The Department of Bacteriology invites applications for Teaching Faculty II. This position will coordinate and teach several microbiology courses with large enrollments in both the fall and spring semesters and is a position for an instructor in our undergraduate microbiology curriculum. Five faculty associates work together as a team, rotating through several different courses, including instructional laboratories and didactic courses for majors and non-majors. This position will also oversee undergraduate and graduate-level teaching assistants and cooperate with support personnel in the preparation of instructional materials, laboratory reagents and setup of the lab.

The minimum salary for this position is $70,000. However, final salary will depend on experience and qualifications. The salary will be paid out over 9 months.

--Teaching experience leading a microbiology, biochemistry, molecular genetics, or related course at a secondary level or higher
--Experience with Learning Management Systems, such as Canvas, Kaltura, Tophat, or Google suite to create announcements, inbox/messaging, discussions, assignment feedback, course organization/navigation
--Experience with curriculum development
--Experience in designing, implementing, and facilitating active and blended learning techniques is beneficial.
Ph.D. in Microbiology or related field required.
Work Schedule:
Normal hours are 7:45am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Occasional nights and weekends may be required for this position for student communication via Canvas.
