In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring that all testing procedures are accurate, adhering to Pennsylvania Test Method (PTM) guidelines as well as relevant standards from the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and the American Society for Testing & Materials (ASTM). You will also verify the precision of laboratory reports and monitor shipments to confirm that the quality of materials delivered aligns with specifications, ensuring that weigh slips accurately reflect the quantities shipped.
You will observe technicians at Portland cement plants, asphalt plants, and aggregate quarries as they conduct tests and maintain quality control over these materials. It is essential to document sampling and testing methods accurately, following the designated procedures for each material type. Additionally, you will identify potential issues and propose solutions when possible, promptly reporting any problems to your supervisor.
