DescriptionJoin the Securities Services Business Management team in Tampa, supporting the expansion of our business which primarily includes custody, fund accounting, and trading services products along with support functions like client service and operations. Business Management optimizes business performance by driving strategic initiatives and acting as trusted advisors to Business/Group Heads. We are responsible for identifying, escalating, and mitigating business risks. This VP role will focus on general finance support, with an emphasis on managing deposit forecasts, technical financial proficiency, and implementing advanced analytical solutions. The position is time-pressured and high-profile, instrumental in assisting/advising senior management and coordinating the deployment of the bank’s corporate resources to address strategic and tactical objectives across custody, fund accounting, trading services, and support functions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the expansion of Securities Services in Tampa, partnering with local and global teams to drive business growth and operational excellence.
- Develop and execute location strategy to maximize the benefits of Tampa as a growth hub, including collaborating with local business units and support functions.
- Support the CFO and senior leadership by providing insightful financial analyses and recommendations to inform decision-making and drive business strategy.
- Partner closely with local Payments teams to identify synergies, optimize workflows, and support cross-business initiatives that enhance client solutions and operational efficiency.
- Implement new business strategies, strategic initiatives, and platforms, aligning department and support groups (Finance, Tech, Ops, Legal, Compliance).
- Optimize business performance by driving key initiatives related to custody, fund accounting, trading services, and associated support functions.
- Identify, escalate, and mitigate business risks (legal, tax, regulatory) that could impact business operations.
- Analyze financial performance, including expenses; identify and drive implementation of cost-saving and revenue-generating initiatives.
- Partner with product, sales, client service, operations, and technology teams to define future workflows and implement technology projects to meet evolving market requirements.
- Represent the business in internal and external working groups, advocating for Tampa’s growth and strategic priorities.
- Support senior management with timely, accurate financial analysis and business insights.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities:
- 5+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely.
- Previous product knowledge and/or prior Business Management or COO experience, preferably in custody, fund accounting, trading services, or related areas.
- Highly motivated self-starter with excellent time management and prioritization skills; able to work independently.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to present effectively to senior and global business heads.
- Ability to define and deliver a strategic agenda across multiple groups.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with attention to detail and logical thought process.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting business expansion or transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with the Tampa market or regional financial services landscape.
- Advanced degree (MBA, MS) or relevant certifications (CFA, CPA) a plus.
