With a strong reputation for quality craftsmanship and operational excellence, they are seeking a Head of Finance to oversee all financial operations and drive strategic decision-making.

About the Role

As the Head of Finance, you will play a critical role in managing the company’s financial health, overseeing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and providing financial insights to support business growth. This is a hands-on leadership position that requires deep expertise in construction accounting, financial reporting, and operational finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain job costing and project profitability analysis to track financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and construction industry financial standards.
  • Manage WIP (Work-in-Progress) reporting, cash flow analysis, and financial risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with project managers to monitor costs, margins, and financial outcomes.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, preparing accurate financial statements.
  • Establish internal controls and best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
  • Oversee payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
  • Support executive leadership with strategic financial planning and decision-making.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting, including job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
  • Proficiency in construction ERP software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar).
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance, and financial regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with experience managing a finance team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and collaborate across departments.
