This role sits at the center of our corporate development and strategic initiatives, working closely with executives across engineering, operations, and commercial teams. This is a hybrid position located in either our Orange, CA (soon to be Tustin, CA) or Heber City, UT office. Up to 15% travel is required.

What You’ll Do
- Serve as the primary legal partner supporting mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic initiatives
- Structure, negotiate, and execute complex agreements including LOIs, purchase agreements, and partnership contracts ensuring compliance
- Coordinate and oversee legal due diligence across regulatory, IP, environmental, labor, and operational areas
- Advise on regulatory compliance, product safety, warranties, intellectual property, and product-liability matters
- Support leadership in evaluating and managing risks and opportunities during strategic transactions
- Help guide post-transaction integration from a legal and governance perspective
- Represent Fieldpiece in legal discussions with partners, regulators, and other external stakeholders
- Manage and coordinate with outside counsel to ensure high-quality, cost-effective representation
- Help develop internal legal processes, policies, and best practices as the company’s legal capabilities expand
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, ideally California or Utah
- 5–7 years of legal experience in corporate, commercial, or regulatory law
- Experience with complex transactions, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, NDAs, corporate initiatives, and strategic agreements
- Experience working with product companies / CPG (not just services)
- Experience managing international legal issues preferred – Europe, Australia
- Strong communication, negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills
- Ability to partner effectively with executives and cross-functional teams
- Experience managing outside counsel

The California base annual salary range for this role is currently $175,000-230,000 plus 15% bonus. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
