Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, leading and developing production associates, and driving continuous improvement to meet or exceed production and yield goals. This third-shift role (Monday-Friday, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) involves supervising staff, monitoring system effectiveness, analyzing statistical data, investigating safety issues, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, manufacturing expertise, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure process achievements and promote customer focus throughout the organization.
- Supervise associates; recognize the need for discipline/counseling and conduct meetings; set appropriate goals for direct reports and evaluate accordingly.
- Lead continuous improvement activities.
- Investigate safety issues and accidents as necessary.
- Monitor, report, and adapt systems effectiveness within production (TPM, Lean Manufacturing, SPC, Inventory Control, etc.).
- Meet or exceed production and yield goals in the assigned area.
- Validate operating procedures for effectiveness.
- Analyze statistical data to forecast production needs and support continuous improvement projects.
- Promptly report to the Manufacturing Manager when production schedules are in danger of not being met.
- Provide departmental training and communication as required.
- Function as a member of the First Responder team per the WVSM Manual.
- Adhere to Niterra policies and procedures and ensure direct reports are compliant.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, which include IATF, ISO, ISMS, TISAX, QMS, and safety-related policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required; will consider an Associate's degree with 5+ years of related manufacturing experience.
- Strong problem identification and resolution skills with the ability to respond immediately.
- Commitment to continuous monitoring and improvement of quality and processes.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and administrative skills.
- Strong multitasking abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced computer proficiency.
- Excellent interpersonal and supervisory/management skills.
- Highly tactful and diplomatic with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
