Description

The Production Supervisor is accountable for managing production activities to produce products that meet established safety, quality, customer service, , innovation and cost metrics consistent with schedules and policies. The Production Supervisor will effectively utilize the production schedule, manpower, equipment resources, and business system to plan, organize and schedule to meet established deadline and performance expectations.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Champion the GK Way with an emphasis on team member Safety. Comply with, enforce, and provide congoing training on all safety rules.
  • Interview, hire train, reward and discipline employees. Plan, assign and direct work. Develop and deliver performance appraisals. Address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Coach, mentor and develop team members.
  • Maintain daily shipping schedule and communicate changes to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Work with individuals, cross functional teams, and other Department Leaders daily to ensure on time delivery.
  • Maintain quality standards throughout the entire production process by fully supporting the Company’s ISO objectives, policies, procedures.
  • Demonstrate the ability to think, plan, and act accordingly to maintain efficiency and effectiveness or people and processes in a fast paced, high mix/low volume production environment.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities focused on improving Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
  • Demonstrate the ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrate the willingness and physical ability to work on our equipment which can include climbing ladders, crawling under objects, and lifting more than 70 pounds.
  • Be an agent of change.
  • Demonstrate The ability to promote a healthy climate in which people can grow and develop.
  • Resolve problems by identifying root cause and then developing and implementing corrective action.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing experience in metal fabrication.
  • Previous proven leadership and management skills required.
  • Prior experience, knowledge, and/or skills in assembly and/or industrial painting operations strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge in manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment.
  • Previous Experience implementing Lean manufacturing principles preferred.
  • Work well under pressure with multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Demonstrate the ability to operate jib/overhead crane and forklift as necessary.
  • Prior experience in analyzing data for vibration measurement equipment a plus.
  • Experience working with integrated manufacturing software.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office products.
  • Bi-lingual abilities a plus.

 

Pay: 85K - 95K paid annually. The range provided is a guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Other factors that are involved in offer decisions include, and are not limited to a candidate’s experience, qualifications, geography, and internal equity.
