The Tides Inn is a beloved waterfront, luxury resort nestled on Carter’s Creek in Irvington, Virginia. The property has been a cherished destination for generations and has recently undergone a number of renovations and enhancements that are helping elevate the brand and overall experience. The Tides features 70 luxurious accommodations, tennis and pickleball courts, wellness treatments, a working farm, Markers Space (for artistic activities), its own marina and two distinct restaurants, Salt & Meadow Restaurant and Fish Hawk Oyster Bar. As it has evolved, the Tides Inn is becoming more widely recognized for its elite programming, culinary experiences, commitment to environmental stewardship, and world-class hospitality.


JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for providing courteous and efficient guest service from the point of arrival to the Spa through the check-in and check-out procedure. Must be knowledgeable concerning all spa treatments, the resort, and the surrounding area. Responsible for making, changing and canceling Spa appointments accurately. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Properly open and close the Spa each day according to standard operating procedures
  • When scheduling always verify all the information with guest: gratuity policy, the length of treatments, inform the guest of our cancellation policy, reconfirm day, time, type of treatment
  • Maintain eye contact when addressing someone (guest, visitor, co-worker or manager)
  • Acknowledge and greet everyone who passes
  • Read communications boards, logs, memos and e-mail messages prior to beginning shift
  • Contact all therapists in a timely manner (at least two hours prior) for treatments scheduled
  • Maintain a clean and organized desk/lobby area
  • Retrieve, put away and organize laundry into laundry area
  • Be aware of retail area and maintain organization
  • Utilize Spa computers with skill and proficiency
  • Handle guest concerns courteously, offer solutions, and follow through on all requests by guests until there is a satisfactory conclusion
  • Actively promote the Spa, all treatments, services, programs and retail
  • Assist in all areas of Spa operation as requested by management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with guests and co-workers
  • Computer literate
  • Administration or sales with previous guest relations training
  • Training in Spa or fitness related field preferred
