Staff Accountant

SkyHop Global is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team, with a primary focus on accounts payable. This role will be heavily involved in day-to-day transactional accounting, supporting the monthly close process, and gaining exposure to broader accounting functions over time.

QuickBooks experience is required for this role. Strong Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and the ability to reconcile data sets) are highly preferred.

 Key Responsibilities

• Manage and process high-volume accounts payable transactions
  • Review, code, and enter vendor invoices accurately and timely in QuickBooks
  • Prepare and process vendor payments
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Support accounts receivable processes as needed
  • Assist with customer invoicing and application of customer payments
• Assist with monthly close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Maintain organized and accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Support audit requests and provide documentation as needed
• Communicate with internal teams (Fleet, Operations, Legal) to ensure accurate expense tracking
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency

 Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR 1–3 years of accounting experience with a focus on accounts payable
• Required: Experience with QuickBooks
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data reconciliation preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
