Wealth Management Firm
Position Overview
A growing and highly regarded Wealth Management firm is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support its core accounting and financial operations. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring operational efficiency across the organization.
This position offers strong exposure to leadership and the opportunity to contribute within a sophisticated financial services environment. Reports directly to the CFO.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting Functions
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy within the general ledger
- Perform monthly account reconciliations, including cash, investments, and accruals
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Financial Reporting
- Support preparation of financial statements and internal management reports
- Assist in tracking firm-level revenue, expenses, and profitability
- Analyze variances and provide insights to support leadership decision-making
Wealth / Investment Accounting Exposure
- Track and reconcile investment-related transactions (if applicable)
- Support reporting tied to AUM (Assets Under Management) and client-related financial activity
- Assist with partnership, trust, or multi-entity accounting structures (if applicable)
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal financial policies
- Support audit processes and maintain audit-ready documentation
- Assist in strengthening internal controls and accounting workflows
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency
- Support implementation or optimization of accounting/portfolio systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–4 years of accounting experience (public accounting or financial services preferred)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (ERP experience preferred)
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- QuickBooks
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within wealth management, financial services, or family office environments
- Exposure to investment accounting or multi-entity structures
- CPA or CPA-track preferred
