The Training Specialist is responsible for delivering assigned technical training sessions and supporting the Training Manager in the execution, preparation, and continuous improvement of Harmar’s training programs.
The position plays a hands-on role in leading portions of classes, facilitating hands-on exercises, and representing Harmar in front of learners, while also performing essential administrative, logistical, and content-support tasks.
Training is delivered in multiple formats—including in-person instruction in Sarasota, FL, virtual classes, and occasional on-site training at dealer or partner locations—requiring strong communication skills, professionalism, and willingness to develop as a facilitator.
Primary Responsibilities
Training Delivery
- Deliver assigned sections of technical training classes independently, with opportunities to lead full sessions as skills grow.
- Co-facilitate instructor-led training with the Training Manager, supporting demonstrations, hands-on activities, and learner engagement.
- Provide real-time guidance, coaching, and support to learners during hands-on practice.
- Assist with demonstrations of equipment, tools, installation processes, and troubleshooting steps.
- Maintain a learner-first environment by ensuring delivery is clear, engaging, professional, and aligned with Harmar standards.
- Training Preparation & Content Support
- Assist in creating, updating, and maintaining training materials, presentations, job aids, and standard operating procedures.
- Prepare training equipment, fixtures, products, and tools before each session to ensure smooth delivery.
- Support the ongoing upkeep of demonstration units and hands-on training equipment.
- Program & Administrative Support
- Manage learner registrations, rosters, and scheduling through the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Track course completions, evaluations, and certifications, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
- Maintain training records, scorecards, attendance logs, and performance metrics.
- Support classroom setup, cleanup, and reset between sessions.
- Ensure the Training Center and Lift Lab remain clean, organized, and professional.

- Bachelor’s degree in education, communications or technical field; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-2 years experience in a customer-facing field, technical product experience preferred
Skills:
- Experience in installation and service and technical training of electro-mechanical devices a must
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to present to small-medium sized groups
- High level of organizational skills
- Ability to communicate, motivate and cooperate with all levels of staff
- Knowledge of current training techniques and tools including webinars, video and interactive learning
- Knowledge of computer applications, including the Internet, Google platform, and Microsoft Office applications
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Ability to read and understand schematics
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
- Detail oriented and thorough in completing work tasks
